Use XML and SQL Server® to turn business data into powerfully integrated solutions for employees, customers, and partners. Discover how to transform your organization’s relational databases into potent e-commerce, business-to-business, and Web applications with this core reference for solution developers. The rich XML support in Microsoftâ SQL Server™ 2000 makes it easy to map XML and relational data with familiar standards such as XPath, XDR schemas, XSL Transformation, HTTP, and OLE DB, as well as newer tools. You’ll learn how to retrieve XML data from the database, insert XML data into the database, and manipulate it in extensible database solutions. And you’ll examine real-world solutions—including knowledge-management systems and high-volume electronic retail databases—that demonstrate how to use SQL Server and XML to move your critical business processes to the Web. An appendix discusses XML specifics for SQL Server developers.
